Introduction to Moral Guilt

Moral guilt is an internal audit. It exists independent of laws or political affiliations. It is the record of the violation of your own conscience—the moments where you knew what was required and chose instead what was comfortable.

This is the guilt of omission. It tracks the gap between your stated values and your actual behavior. It is the most difficult to document externally, but the most persistent in its presence.

Forensic Observations

"A conscience that only speaks after the fact is just a PR department for the ego."

"Rationalization is the primary defense mechanism used to mask moral liability."
